MURFREESBORO — The three-peat is complete.
And don’t expect the state streak to end anytime soon, Webb School players said after the Spartans (53-4) wrapped up their third consecutive Division II-A volleyball championship with a dominating 3-0 victory over Harding Academy, 25-17, 25-14, 25-21, on Friday at the Murphy Center on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University.
“This is awesome. To go out with our third straight championship is the best day I could have,” said tournament MVP Frances Harrison, a senior outside hitter and South Carolina beach volleyball commitment who had 14 kills and 8 digs in the final.
“There are a lot of young players coming up, so I can’t wait to see where they go in the future.”
Webb coach Chris Hames echoed those sentiments, noting that everybody will be back next season except for Harrison and senior setter/hitter Scout McLerran, a Buffalo commitment who had 19 assists.
